Principles of Selling – Final Presentation of the Selling Process

Hi friends!

This semester, I’ve been taking an accelerated Principles of Selling course through Southeast Tech, and while it’s been challenging to balance it with my design courses, it’s been great to learn about the steps of the selling process and the reasoning behind them.

This class has been enlightening for many reasons, but I would say the biggest takeaway for me is that, even though there’s a process to selling, not everyone sells the same way. What works for one customer might not work for the next, and you constantly need to evaluate your process based on your customer and your business model.

For our final project, we had to create a script that walks a customer through the nine steps of the selling process, and then record ourselves using that script in real-time with another person acting as the customer. For my business, I decided to connect it to my 10-piece related project in my design classes and sell stationery under the name “The Write Stuff.”

This script was not difficult to write, but it was more difficult than I thought it would be to actually sell the products. I am glad I had a good recording partner who was patient with me as I practiced and practiced to get it right, hahaha. (Thanks, Garrett!)

I felt pretty confident about the recording I turned in, so I’m hoping I get a good score on it.

Edit: I got a 90% on my presentation!!
